We have a pickling basics class coming up on March 21st in L.A… How exciting!

The Ancient Secret of Good Health: Principles of Lacto-Fermentation

In this class we will discuss the history of lacto-fermentation, how it works, and why it’s so good for you (and why it’s difficult to find these foods in the supermarket!). Lacto-fermentation is the process that turns plain vegetables into natural piquant pickles. We will also taste various fermented foods and learn how easy it is to make our own sauerkraut and beet kvass (an effervescent beet tonic) to take home. We will also have a pickled carrots demonstration, time permitting. You will be able to confidently take these skills home and use them to maximize the nutrition of your vegetables!
